Lion Lizard

The Lion Lizard also know locally as a Curly Tailed Lizard is at times mistaken for a juvenile Iguana. The can be quite bold at times. I can remember one time when one was determined to chase me away from the beach chair I was laying on. I guess he wanted my snacks I was munching on.

It prefers sunny and loose rocky areas, which is ideal for a quick escape to it's burrow when startled. It's quite an active lizard. These lizards unlike many others, will become quite tame. The do accept handouts.
